Video: North Bristol RFC hosts Eagle Project end of term festival

Community Foundation's award-winning Eagle Project celebrated the end of term one with a school rugby festival at North Bristol RFC on Tuesday, December 5th.

Abbeywood Community School, Winterbourne International Academy and Colston's attended the festival, with more than 50 girls taking part in the festival.

Bristol Ladies centre and England international, Amber Reed, was also in attendance - and the programme ambassador said she was delighted to see the progress of girls' rugby in Bristol.

"It’s a great opportunity for girls in the local area to try the game and an opportunity they probably wouldn’t have normally,” said Reed.

“It’s a great stepping stone to local clubs, who are trying to get more girls involved in their teams.

“I started playing in school and that’s where this programme does its amazing work. It goes into schools and gives the girls an opportunity to try the game and develop new skills.

“Rugby has given me a lot and I know how much it can give, so a project like Eagle is so important.”
