REPORT: Bristol Ladies 17-10 DMP Sharks

Bristol Ladies remain third in the RFU Women's Premiership after a hard-fought victory over DMP Sharks at Trowbridge RFC.

In windswept conditions, the hosts scored three times as Sian Moore, Clara Neilson and Olivia Jones all crossed, while Sue Neumann added a conversion.

Bristol dominated the first half, scoring three unanswered tries. First, Sian Moore touched down from close range on the quarter hour, before Clara Nielson crossed midway through the first period.

Olivia Jones scored before the interval to put Bristol in control and, although Sian Moore and Trish Brown were sin-binned in the second period, the home side held out for the win and stay in the race for the play-offs.

Scrum half Moore said: “Conditions had a big influence on our performance today. As a team, we wanted to challenge ourselves to keep to our style of rugby as much as possible. Our handling and work rate really showed our quality, we showed a lot of heart too and most importantly we’re a step closer to the play offs and to that Premiership title.”
