Ollie Dawe agrees new, two-year deal

Bristol Rugby are delighted to confirm that Ollie Dawe has committed his future to the club until 2020.

The highly rated 20 year-old prop – who represented England U20s at the 2017 Junior World Championship – graduates from the Bristol Rugby Academy to sign his first senior contract with a two year deal.

“It’s fantastic to see another young talent choose to stay and continue his development at Bristol Rugby, it’s just another example of the excellent work being done by Mike [Hall] and our Academy Team,” said head coach Pat Lam.

“Ollie [Dawe] ticks a lot of boxes for us; he’s been a part of the club’s Academy system, is on the England pathway but, more importantly, he has a hunger and a desire to learn and improve every day.”

“This season, we’ve been working hard with him to develop his ability to play on the tighthead as well.

"An English prop who can play both sides of the scrum is a very valuable commodity and it’s a testament to Ollie and the continued efforts of the coaches that he sees his future with us.”

A product of the Academy – having joined from Plymouth Albion - Dawe has made six senior appearances so far in the front row.

He added: “I’m really pleased to have agreed terms to stay with the club. My game has come a long way in the past couple of years and I’m massively enjoying the environment that Pat [Lam] and the coaches have instilled.

“The coaches are challenging me to better myself and improve my game and I’m determined to keep working hard to earn a starting berth because I want to be a first team regular for Bristol in the top flight.”
