Chapman signs full-time Academy deal

Aaron Chapman has penned a one-year deal with the Bristol Rugby Academy following an impressive trial period over the pre-season.

The 18 year-old – who made two friendly appearances in August – scored in the pre-season defeat to Bath at the Clifton RFC training base.

“Aaron has come into the senior professional environment and really impressed with his attitude and ability,” Academy Manager Mike Hall said.

“He has the physical attributes to be successful and Aaron demonstrated that in his pre-season performances."

A powerful winger with an eye for the tryline, Chapman started playing rugby at aged 12 at Topsham RFC, before studying at King’s College Taunton. He went on to represent England at U16s and U18s, as well as Exeter Chiefs Academy.

He added: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the trial period at Bristol Rugby and have learned a lot working with the Academy coaches and the experienced players around me.

“To earn a full-time professional contract is a dream come true. I want to keep developing as a player and I believe that this is the perfect environment to achieve that.”
