Bristol Rugby duo head out on loan agreements

Will Hurrell and Ryan Edwards are set to go out on loan with immediate effect, the club can confirm.

Hurrell joins Bath Rugby for the remainder of the campaign, while Ryan Edwards makes the switch to Cardiff Blues on a short-term agreement.

“Following injuries for both their teams and the Six Nations approaching, I was called by Danny [Wilson] and Todd [Blackadder] requesting the players.  With our current depth in outside backs - and after discussing with Will and Ryan - we are happy to assist Bath and Cardiff by supporting the loans,” said head coach Pat Lam.

“We believe this is a great opportunity for Will’s development plan to continue the work in growing his game, by having game-time back in the Premiership.

“Ryan has been working really hard on the training field and he’s eager to play in a very competitive area for us, so the chance to feature at the Blues in the PRO14 is also perfect for Ryan’s development plan.

“Both players are contracted for next season and we have a call back clause in the event of injuries to our backs. We believe this opportunity is very beneficial for the players and Bristol Rugby moving forward.”
