Bristol Rugby 22-14 London Scottish

Bristol Rugby confirmed their place in the B&I Cup quarter-finals with a comfortable 22-14 defeat of London Scottish on Friday.

Andy Robinson’s men secured top spot in Pool One as Kyle Traynor and Ben Skirving crossed during a one-sided first half.

Gaston Cortes added a try after the interval to maintain Bristol’s 100% record in all competitions this season.

Kyle Traynor opened the scoring for Bristol inside five minutes when the prop rumbled over from close range for a converted try.

The hosts controlled the first period and could have added further scores, before Mark Lilley was sin-binned, reducing London Scottish to fourteen men.

Moments later, Ben Skirving was on hand to dab down following a surge from the pack, while Robinson slotted the extras to double Bristol’s lead.

The Bristol fly half added a penalty goal on the hour mark, before replacement prop Gaston Cortes wrestled across the whitewash for the third try of the evening.

London Scottish staged a late fightback as Alex Brown and Matt Williams went over in quick succession, but Bristol held firm to book safe passage into the knockout stages.
