Players to visit Frenchay Hospital

Bristol Rugby’s players and management will visit children at Frenchay Hospital on Monday.

Alongside popular mascot Brizzley Bear, the players will bring some early Christmas cheer to young patients, singing carols and posing for pictures.

The Barbara Russell Children’s Unit at Frenchay treats around six-hundred children with burn injuries every year, as well as providing support and education to burn-injured children, their families and professionals.

Bristol Club Captain James Grindal commented: “It’s always humbling to meet the nurses and staff at Frenchay Hospital who do a superb job throughout the year.

“We’re in a privileged position as professional rugby players and it’s important to give something back. To be able to meet the young patients and talk to the parents puts everything into perspective.”
