SGS Filton 53-14 Ivybridge

SGS Filton got their AASE League campaign back on track with a 53-14 demolition of Ivybridge, on the brand-new 4G pitch at WISE Campus.

The Bristol Rugby apprentices ran in nine tries as their brand of fast and entertaining rugby tore the visitors apart.

Lucas Slowik bagged a brace while there were also scores for Chay Smith, Alex Winterburn, Kieran Ward, Elias Caven, Joe Smith, Callum Jones and Alex Kilbane.

Head Coach George Tavner was pleased with the win and his side's performance.

He said: "We played well today and scored some good tries. I was pleased with how we defended because that is what has been letting us down in recent weeks - especially against Hartpury.

"The South Group in the AASE League is pretty wide open with everyone beating everyone. We know if we win our home games we'll be alright, so today was important. The new 4G really suits the way we want to play so we're pleased with that as well."

The next home game for SGS Filton is against Millfield School, in the official opening of the new 4G pitch on the 13th November at the WISE Campus, Kick Off 7.30pm.
