Robinson: Second Half Display Not Good Enough
DOR unhappy by second half
Andy Robinson was critical of his side’s second half display as Bristol Rugby toiled to a 21-7 victory over Ealing Trailfinders on Saturday.
“We won’t blame the weather – it was the same for both sides and didn’t affect anything"
Bristol scored three tries before the interval, but couldn’t find a way over the whitewash in a scrappy second period.
“It was an unacceptable second half performance. Ealing defended well but, from our point of view, we’re hugely frustrated,” the Director of Rugby told bristolrugby.co.uk.
“We won’t blame the weather – it was the same for both sides and didn’t affect anything. We have to play tactically in the conditions and take our opportunities when they come.
“Scoring three tries in the first half was pleasing, but to have the possession and the chances in Ealing territory in the second half and to not come away with points is not good enough.
“It’s a shame because we had a good week on the training field, but ultimately it ends in a disappointing performance.
“I’d like to thank the supporters that made the trip. They came in big numbers and were absolutely tremendous – they didn’t deserve a second half like that.”
