Robinson: Attitude Was Excellent
DOR praises bonus point victory
Andy Robinson hailed the attitude of his players after Bristol Rugby came from behind to seal a bonus point victory over London Scottish on Sunday.
"We kept expressing ourselves and the attitude was right on Sunday"
Glen Townson’s last-gasp try – Bristol’s fourth of the afternoon – clinched maximum points at the Memorial Stadium.
“The ambition that we played with was excellent,” the Director of Rugby told bristolrugby.co.uk. “From the first whistle, the movement of the ball was exceptional.
“We have to take our chances better, but the manner that we tried to play was really pleasing. We trailed at half time, but that’s part of the game. We were calm in the dressing room and stuck at it really well.
“It would have been easy to go into our shells when things weren’t quite going our way, but we kept expressing ourselves and the attitude was right on Sunday.
“It’s going to be a rollercoaster this season, but we want to enjoy that experience and understand how to handle it.
“Everybody in the ground felt the rollercoaster of emotions, but what was brilliant was that the guys kept playing with ambition.
“We want to make sure that the Mem is a place where opposition teams don’t want to visit and that comes from playing the attacking style we’re trying to adopt at home.”
