Bristol face Leeds in Cup semi-final

Bristol will face Leeds Carnegie for the fifth time in all competitions already this season when the sides meet in the B&I Cup semi final on Sunday (3pm KO).

The two sides went head-to-head in Pool Five of the competition, as Bristol emerged narrow 21-17 victors at the Memorial Stadium, before going down 19-24 in the final round of group fixtures in January.

Having finished in top spot, Carnegie progressed to the semi-finals following a comprehensive 41-21 win over Plymouth Albion at Headingley.

James Lowes' side trailed 18-10 midway through the first period, but went in at the break leading 20-18.

The Headingley outfit scored three further tries in the second half – including a penalty try with the last move of the game – to set up a semi-final at the Memorial Stadium.

Leeds Carnegie have guaranteed a place in the Greene King IPA Championship play-offs and - like Bristol - are targeting an unprecedented league and cup double this season.
