Pirates in sixth position in the league

Cornish Pirates visit the Memorial Stadium on Sunday (1pm KO) boosted by a narrow 19-15 victory over Jersey in their last outing.

The victory over the Channel Islanders was the first win for Ian Davies' side in 2014.

Debutant Max Bodilly crossed for the decisive try in sodden conditions at Mennaye Field to end a four game winless run.

Since a narrow 10-3 victory over Plymouth Albion on Boxing Day, Pirates have suffered defeats at the hands of Rotherham (30-35), London Scottish (6-25) and Moseley (20-28), while also surviving a scare to draw 18-18 with Ealing Trailfinders.

But Cornish Pirates have faced Bristol twice already this season, winning on both occasions. The Cornishmen recorded a 23-21 win on the opening day of the campaign, before a 21-15 victory in November.

Former Bristol trio Tom Channon, Darren Barry and Junior Fatialofa continue to ply their trade at Mennaye Field.

Following Sunday's game, Pirates host London Welsh (16 Mar) in the rearranged fixture, before a trip to Nottingham (23 Mar).
