The Penzance outfit finished sixth in the Greene King IPA Championship last season and, under the captaincy of former Bristol back rower Chris Morgan – Pirates will be aiming for higher this time around.

Ian Davies’ men have endured a tough start to the campaign and are without a win after two successive defeats at Mennaye Field.

In the opening game of the season, Yorkshire Carnegie notched a bonus point 29-18 victory, while last weekend London Scottish recorded a 30-19 win, thanks in part to a Mark Bright hat-trick.

Former Bristol duo Darren Barry and Tom Channon are still among the Pirates’ ranks, although Junior Fatialofa departed for Chinnor in the summer.

Following Sunday’s game, Pirates host Moseley (Sept 28) before a trip to Doncaster Knights (Oct 4).
