Bristol Rugby’s players and management enjoyed some West Country refreshment when the group visited the Shepton Mallet Cider Mill on Monday.

Home of leading brand Blackthorn – a loyal partner sponsor of the Club – the production facility has been making cider for over fifty years.

Blackthorn have been supporting Bristol Rugby for five seasons, with the company’s branding featuring on the back of the home and away matchday shirts.

Led by Head Coach Liam Middleton and CEO Steve Gorvett, the group were given a tour of the Cider Mill.

“It’s great to get an insight into the secrets behind Blackthorn’s success,” said Steve Gorvett. “Blackthorn have strong roots in the West Country and that’s underlined by their ongoing support of Bristol Rugby, as well as other sporting clubs in the region.”

Bob Chaplin, Fruit & Orcharding Manager of Shepton Mallet Cider Mill, said: “Having visited the Memorial Stadium many times to watch some great rugby being played, we welcome the opportunity to invite the players down and show off what we do here.”
