Bristol - who went down 69-5 to Bath in the opening pre-season fixture – take on Aviva Premiership outfit Chiefs at Sandy Park.

“It promises to be another big challenge for us against Exeter,” Mosses told bristolrugby.co.uk. “A lot of hard work has gone into training this week after the defeat to Bath.

“Of course we’re disappointed, but pre-season is about exposing flaws and improving them, so we have highlighted where we went wrong.

“We want to test ourselves against quality opposition – it’s the only way to get better as a team and as individuals.

“Playing Exeter away from home will be tough. We’re under no illusions about how we need to raise our performance and put in a positive eighty minute showing.

“We play Pirates in the opening league game at Sandy Park, so this will serve as a good opportunity to become familiar with the ground and hopefully use that to our advantage when the Championship begins.”
