“Mark as been an excellent prospect for some time, and I feel we are due to see him meet that potential in the very near future,” said Scrum Coach Matthew Ferguson.

“His imposing size and power mean he offers us real physicality, and he’s an excellent ball-carrier.

“All props will be judged on the set piece and Mark has worked very hard over the last few months to develop this part of his game.

“I have been impressed by Mark’s performances this season and I look forward to continuing working with him.”

The 25 year-old – who has represented England at U18 and U20 level – made his first team debut against in the RFU Championship against Moseley.

Lilley added: “I’m delighted to remain at the Club – we’re at the start of a new challenge and it’s an exciting time to be here.

“It’s an exceptionally talented squad that Bristol are building, I’m relishing the prospect of challenging for a place in the starting line-up.”
