Jarvis: We Showed What We Can Do
Fly half sees positives in Falcons victory
Adrian Jarvis believes Bristol’s winning performance against Newcastle at Kingston Park can act as a springboard for the future.
The fly half struck fourteen points with the boot to end the Falcons unbeaten run, but it wasn’t enough to move the visitors into the RFU Championship top four.
“We knew we weren’t in control going into this game,” admitted Jarvis. “All we could do was our job – so we were focused on putting in a strong performance and giving ourselves the best possible chance.
“Leeds won and credit to them, that’s the reality of what we did at the beginning of the season. We left ourselves too much to do and that’s obviously frustrating.
“But the display against Newcastle – the strongest side in the league – shows exactly how good we can be when we click as a team.
“We fronted up against the RFU Championship’s most physical outfit, and played some good rugby too, so that’s really pleasing.
“It’s important we build on this next season. We have so much belief about what we can achieve and there is a confidence and buzz about the Club that we can really do things.
“We set a benchmark today and this is where we have to perform throughout next season if we want to be successful. There’s a lot to look forward to.”
