Hayes: South-West Derby Will Be Tough Test
Hooker set for Albion challenge
Ollie Hayes expects a physical battle when Bristol Rugby visit Plymouth Albion in the South-West derby on Saturday (3pm KO).
"The fact it's a South-West derby adds something extra to the occasion"
Bristol have never lost at Brickfields in the Championship, winning six times in regular season and play-off games.
But Hayes insists that the unbeaten record counts for nothing against a resurgent Plymouth Albion this weekend.
"Plymouth are in a great run of form right now and we know that we can expect a really difficult game on Saturday," the hooker told bristolrugby.co.uk.
"They are a strong, physical side who are full of confidence. We need to combat that with another solid performance, which we know we're capable of.
"We know that we didn't kick on against Nottingham last weekend so it's important that we continue to build on our performances and improve this time around.
"The style of rugby we are playing is exciting and at a fast tempo - it's crucial that we can sustain that for the duration of a game and we're working hard on the training ground to achieve that.
"The fact it's a South-West derby adds something extra to the occasion. We know that we will have a big following of supporters and they always make a huge difference to us."
