New recruit excited to make West Country switch

James Hall has set his sights on Aviva Premiership rugby after signing for Bristol Rugby on Tuesday.

And the talented prop – who joins from table-topping Newcastle Falcons – admits the move to the West Country was an easy decision to make.

“When I found out there was an opportunity to come to Bristol, I was really excited,” the 26 year-old told bristolrugby.co.uk.

“I came down and looked around – I was impressed with the facilities. Everything is in one place – the gym, pitches and offices – it’s of a very high standard.

“There’s a lot happening at Bristol at the moment, you only have to look at the players that the Club are bringing in. I’m looking forward to being a part of that.

“It’s a good place to come and play and get better as a player. I know the likes of Luke [Eves], Glen [Townson] and Red [Pennycook] from Falcons, so it will be great to hook up with them again and get to know the city and the Club.”

An experienced Aviva Premiership performer, Hall insists he is desperate to play at the highest level again as quickly as possible.

He added: “Bristol are putting a lot into getting into the Premiership and that’s where I want to be playing my rugby. It was an easy choice to make in that respect.

“The RFU Championship is such a competitive competition, but I’m confident that everything is in place for the Club to make the step up to the top flight.”
