Eadie: We're Making Steady Progress
Flanker says squad are working hard
Mitch Eadie insists progress is being made on the training ground ahead of Bristol’s pre-season friendly with London Irish on Friday (7.30pm KO).
"The new coaches and conditioning staff bring fresh ideas, as do the new players who have arrived"
Andy Robinson’s men head to the Exiles’ Hazelwood training complex as preparations continue for the new campaign.
And the flanker – who could be in line for his first outing during pre-season – says the squad are working hard.
“It’s been a really tough pre-season so far – one of the most demanding that I’ve experienced at the Club,” Eadie told bristolrugby.co.uk.
“We’re thoroughly enjoying it. The new coaches and conditioning staff bring fresh ideas, as do the new players who have arrived – it makes everybody raise their game.
“It’s a big squad here and everybody is hungry to play and show what we can do. The boys who didn’t get selected against the Dragons are itching for an opportunity this week.
“London Irish, like Newport, are going to be strong and they will be a real challenge, but that’s exactly what we are looking for. We need to test ourselves against good sides and match the physicality that these teams will bring.
“Ultimately, these games are about improving and making steps of progress – we need to be ready for the opening game of the league season and we’re certainly moving in the right direction.”
