Bristol Wanderers To Play At The Mem
Charity game on Sunday
A rugby team including a number of former Bristol players will take the field in a charity match following the B&I Cup semi-final versus Leeds Carnegie on Sunday.
The Bristol Wanderers – who, in their inaugural year are raising money for Children’s Hospice South West – will face Keynsham Vets at the Memorial Stadium (5pm KO).
Established by Paul Beet along with former Bristol players Simon Martin and Mark Irish, the Wanderers will play around four games a season in the West Country.
The Wanderers’ squad will include terrace favourites such as Roy Winters, Darren Crompton, Craig Short, Junior Fatialofa, Sean Marsden and Kevin Maggs.
As well as a bucket collection around the Memorial Stadium before kick-off, the Wanderers will be holding a raffle for a signed shirt, with the winner announced at half-time of Bristol’s B&I Cup semi-final.
