Watkins: We're Striving For Consistency
Winger previews Leeds Carnegie clash
George Watkins expects a tough test when Bristol Rugby face Leeds Carnegie on Sunday (3pm KO).
"It's a tight-knit group and we all want to keep improving"
Andy Robinson's men - who top the Greene King IPA Championship - go in search of a ninth straight victory at Headingley.
Watkins scored twice in the defeat to Carnegie back in December and insists the squad are focused on the challenge that awaits them in Yorkshire.
"This will be the fourth time we've played Leeds this season, so we know all about them and the rugby they are capable of playing," the winger told bristolrugby.co.uk.
"Leeds are in a good run of form and so are we, so it should be a great battle. We've used the free weekend as a chance to recharge the batteries and everyone is raring to go again and hungry to get back out on the field.
"We're confident in our own abilities but we're still striving to find that consistency in our performances. It's a tight-knit group and we all want to keep improving.
"We're top of the league and we want to stay there - it's imperative that we keep working hard and putting in the performances. After the Pirates game, we weren't happy with some elements of our defensive work, so we've focused on putting that right.
"The travelling support have been brilliant all season and they can be the difference again this weekend. We're really looking forward to playing and testing ourselves against Leeds."
