Ealing looking for first home win

Ealing will look to build on their first victory in the Greene King IPA Championship when the Trailfinders welcome Bristol to Vallis Way on Saturday (3pm KO).

Currently bottom of the Championship, newly-promoted Ealing endured a tough start to the campaign, losing the opening nine games, including a 79-9 defeat at the hands of Rotherham Titans.

But Ealing claimed a first ever Championship win when Mike Cudmore's men came from behind to overcome Jersey 28-18 in their last league outing.

The islanders were 12-0 in front after tries from Alex Rae and Nick Campbell but Tom Bedford's score kept the visitors in touch.

Ealing went in front courtesy of two Phil Chesters tries and full-back Andrew Henderson sealed a bonus-point with a last-gasp try.

Prolific winger Phil Chesters provides a try-scoring threat at Vallis Way, while Tim Brockett and Gavin Curry represented Bristol in the B&I Cup during the 2010/11 season.

Following Saturday's game, Ealing face a trip to Nottingham (Jan 5), before a return to B&I Cup action versus Cross Keys (Jan 11).
