Traynor: We Need To Take A Look At Ourselves
Prop says Bristol must improve
Kyle Traynor has called on his teammates to remain positive after Bristol lost 22-28 to Leeds Carnegie on Sunday.
“It’s disappointing to lose at home, that’s one of the most frustrating aspects"
The prop – who scored a first half try in a man-of-the-match performance – told bristolrugby.co.uk that the squad must start learning from their mistakes.
“It’s disappointing to lose at home, that’s one of the most frustrating aspects. It’s the story of our season really, giving away easy possession and allowing the opposition in for soft tries,” he said.
“Credit to Leeds, they were clinical. We’re dominating territory and possession in the majority of our games but the scoreline isn’t always reflecting that.
“There needs to be a huge individual onus on us improving our skills. If we’re not accurate or keeping hold of the ball – and we don’t learn to do that better – then we will continue to cough up possession softly.
“We need to take a look at ourselves and improve from 1-22, because we need to be much better.
“We have to remain positive, it’s a tough period but there is more to come from us and we will move forward. We’ll continue to train hard and put ourselves under pressure to perform.”
