Nottingham without league win since season opener
Nottingham Rugby went through a major overhaul over the summer following the loss of a number of key players.
The Championship player of the season, Tim Streather, was snapped up by Saracens while Nic Rouse and Matt Parr made their way to London Irish. Long time servants James Arlidge and Joe Duffey both returned to New Zealand while Rhys Crane moved on to London Welsh.
Replacements were recruited in the shape of Campese Ma’afu from Cardiff, Jon Vickers from Plymouth, Neilus Keogh from AS Lazio and Matthew Jarvis from Connacht. Despite the arrivals, Nottingham have one of the smallest squads in the Greene King IPA Championship.
Since a 24-16 victory on the opening day against Leeds, Nottingham have fallen to three successive league defeats, going down to London Welsh (46-19), London Scottish (27-6) and Jersey (22-19).
Following Sunday’s game, the Green and Whites host Bedford (Nov 3), before a trip to Billesley Common to face Moseley (Nov 9).
