Slowik: Debut Was A Dream Come True
Winger delighted with B&I Cup win
Auguy Slowik admitted it was ‘a dream come true’ to make his competitive debut for Bristol Rugby on Sunday.
“It’s a dream come true to play for the Club I have grown up supporting"
And the 19 year-old, who helped his side to a 21-17 victory over Leeds in the B&I Cup opener was delighted with the hard-fought win.
“I’m over the moon with the result on Sunday,” Slowik told bristolrugby.co.uk. “I’m delighted to have played, but also for my team mates because we worked incredibly hard for that result.
“We want to make winning a habit at the Memorial Stadium and that comes from having the determination and desire we showed to turn around a ten point deficit and earn the result.
“It’s a dream come true to play for the Club I have grown up supporting. I was nervous before the game but it was great to get out there in front of the supporters and play my natural game.
“All the young guys had nothing to lose really. We just wanted to play and make a positive impact. It helped to get hands on the ball early on and my confidence grew as the game wore on – I was pleased to get a few breaks.
“Ultimately, I’m just happy that the team won and we’ve continued that momentum and kept the positive results going.”
