Robinson: There Is Plenty For Us To Work On
DOR believes Bristol can improve
Andy Robinson has called for his players to strive for higher standards after Bristol Rugby swept Bedford Blues aside at the Memorial Stadium.
“I’m pleased with how we are trying to play, but there is a long way for us to go"
The hosts scored seven tries to record a 45-27 victory on Sunday, but the Director of Rugby believes there is much to improve on.
“I’m delighted by the attitude of the players and the way we are trying to play, but there is lots of work on and much to improve on,” Robinson told bristolrugby.co.uk.
“We won’t get ahead of ourselves. We still aren’t taking enough of our opportunities and that’s disappointing. We’re playing the right way and creating chances but not putting them away.
“Whatever the final score, we will be critical because we want to keep driving the standards and look at ways we can work on our game. We made errors on Sunday and when you don’t get your accuracy right, the pressure is back on you.
“I’m pleased with how we are trying to play, but there is a long way for us to go. This is all about the team and how we develop – trying to move the ball around and taking the game to the opposition.
“We need to strive to be at a lot higher standard than we are at the moment. Win or lose, we will always look at how we can improve.”
