Hobson Pens Contract Extension
Long serving prop commits until 2015
Bristol Rugby are delighted to announce that Jason Hobson has agreed an extension to his contact that will keep the prop at the Club until 2015.
"It’s my ambition to represent this Club in the Aviva Premiership again"
The 30 year old– who has made one-hundred competitive appearances in a Bristol shirt – remains one of the most consistent front rowers in the Greene King IPA Championship.
Hobson’s debut for the Club came against Penzance & Newlyn in September, 2003.
Since then, the former England international has represented the Club in Europe and the top flight, scoring six tries.
Director of Rugby Andy Robinson said: “Jason is one of the most experienced players in this squad and he’s a good example to the young props coming through.
“He’s a popular figure among supporters and it’s easy to see why: Jason plays with his heart on his sleeve and he shows a lot of passion for Bristol Rugby.”
The Player’s Player of the Season in 2012, Hobson told bristolrugby.co.uk that the opportunity to commit his future to the Club was an easy decision to make.
“I’ve spent the large majority of my career playing for Bristol and it’s a Club and city that is very close to me,” he said.
“We’ve had a difficult few years but there is real optimism that Bristol Rugby are moving forward now. I want to be a part of the exciting new direction that Bristol Sport is taking and it’s my ambition to represent this Club in the Aviva Premiership again.”
