Bristol face Bath Rugby at the Recreation Ground on Saturday (3pm KO) in the opening friendly clash of the new season.

The Academy back-rower – who was voted the 2012/13 Player’s Player of the Year – told he is itching to get back playing again.

“It’s been a long off-season and the boys are very excited about playing some rugby,” said Eadie.

“It’s an opportunity for us to show what we can do and, with a number of new faces in the squad, start getting to know each other on the field.

“Pre-season has been great. It’s been a real challenge – particularly the army camp – and we’ve become a tight unit on and off the field.

“The new arrivals have raised the bar and there is a real hunger to succeed this season. That’s obvious in the intensity at training.

“Bath are obviously a very strong side, so it’ll be great to test ourselves against Aviva Premiership opposition because, ultimately, that’s where we want to be.”
