Harris-Wright Added To Backroom Staff
27 year-old joins as Academy S&C Coach
Bristol Rugby are pleased to confirm that Jonathan Harris-Wright has been added to the backroom staff ahead of the new campaign.
The 27 year old – whose brother Jason enjoyed a spell with the Club during the 2011/12 season – joins as Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach.
Having studied at St Mary’s University, Harris-Wright spent two seasons working with the London Irish Academy.
“It’s been a great experience so far. Everybody has been really welcoming and it’s such a professional environment,” he told bristolrugby.co.uk.
“It’s a tight-knit group of lads and the backroom staff have been fantastic. There’s a positive atmosphere around the place.
“I’m in charge of the strength programmes for the seven full-time Academy players, as well as working with the EPDG players, who vary from the ages of 13 to 17.
“In terms of the Academy, it’s a similar set up here at Bristol as it was London Irish, so I’m familiar with a lot of the processes involved.
There are some talented players and we expect certain individuals to be pushing for a place in the senior side this season – they’re knocking on the door.
“In terms of the younger guys, I’m looking at their long term athlete development, so that when they move into a senior Academy position, they are ready to hit the ground running.”
