Robinson: Let's Keep Building On Performances
Director of Rugby hails attacking display
Andy Robinson has called on his players to continue building performances after watching Bristol Rugby romp to a 38-19 victory over London Scottish on Saturday.
Bristol scored five tries at the Richmond Athletic Ground to keep their play-off hopes alive, and the Director of Rugby hailed the attacking display.
“It was difficult conditions to play rugby, but I’m pleased with the way that we played,” said Robinson. “I enjoyed watching the game, it was good to see both sides trying to move the ball around.
“To get five tries was pleasing – particularly the manner in which we scored. We moved them around and, tactically, I thought we played the game well.
“We scored some excellent tries – one from an offload from George [Watkins] and one from James [Merriman]. We built our chances through territory, so overall we’re pleased.
“It’s a building phase for us as a team. We need to keep momentum going and play the sort of rugby we want to play.
“We had the platform on Saturday. The forwards put an excellent shift in and their defensive work around the fringes impressed me too.
“All we can do is focus on ourselves – we’ll deal with what we can do and focus on our own performances – we certainly won’t give up.”
