Johnston Commits To Bristol Rugby
Hooker to remain at the Memorial Stadium
Bristol Rugby are delighted to confirm that Ross Johnston will commit his future to the Club after agreeing terms on a new deal.
One of the most highly rated hookers in the RFU Championship, Johnston has made 88 first team appearances for Bristol, scoring 21 tries.
The 27 year-old – who joined from Cardiff in the summer of 2009 – is one of only four forwards to have scored a hat-trick in the blue and white hoops.
“We’re delighted that Ross has committed to us in the prime of his career,” said Director of Rugby Andy Robinson.
“Ross has the determination to play Aviva Premiership rugby and we believe he has the potential to get better and better.
“He’s a motivated individual with a clear ambition to succeed – his performances over the last twelve months emphasise his importance to the team.”
A fan’s favourite at the Memorial Stadium, Johnston has made 17 starts for the Club so far during the campaign.
The Welshmen added: “I’m delighted to stay at Bristol Rugby and repay the support that the Club and its supporters have given me over the past four years.
“It’s an exciting time to be involved here, we’re a tight-knit group of players who want to play for the shirt and help push the Club forward.
“Bristol are making big strides on and off the field and I’m looking forward to continuing to contribute to that environment.”
