Newcastle prop joins Club ahead of new season

James Hall will become the Club’s eighth new recruit as Bristol Rugby build a squad for the 2013/14 campaign.

The tighthead prop – who arrives from Newcastle Falcons – bolsters Director of Rugby Andy Robinson’s front row options.

Hall made 50 competitive appearances since moving to Kingston Park in 2010, including 32 outings in the Aviva Premiership.

The 26 year old excelled in the RFU Championship with Coventry, running in four tries during the 2009/10 season.

“Talented, young props are a valuable commodity and James fits that bill,” said Robinson. “He’s a fiercely ambitious individual who has experience of RFU Championship and top-level rugby.

“James’ arrival adds some quality to our front row and I’m confident he will make a significant contribution to us next season.”

A former England Colleges and England Students representative, the powerful scrummager began his career with Waterloo.

Hall added: “I’m really looking forward to this next step in my career. Coming to Bristol is a huge challenge and I’m excited to helping the team succeed, whilst continuing my personal progression.

“There is a fantastic culture at the Club and I’m relishing the prospect of playing at the Memorial Stadium.”
