Jarvis: Support Was Fantastic
Fly half hails Bristol fans at St Peter
Adrian Jarvis paid tribute to the travelling support after Bristol snatched a 29-23 victory over Jersey on Saturday.
The fly half – who scored twenty-four points in an impressive display – believes the fans from the West Country gave the players a significant boost.
“The number of supporters that made the trip was outstanding,” said Jarvis. “They made a huge difference and really added to the atmosphere. The fans are so passionate at Bristol and it spurred the players on.
“When we arrived at the ground, we couldn’t quite believe how many had made the trip. It was fantastic and we wanted to get the right result for those who came to support us.
“We dug in at the end and defended really well. We’d have taken any sort of win at the start of the game, because St Peter is such a difficult place to come and get a result.
“One thing we haven’t lacked this season is a desire to do well, a strong team spirit and a sense of togetherness. This performance showed just how hard we are willing to work.
“This win keeps us alive and now we look forward to Plymouth Albion. Jersey are a tough side and they took their opportunities well – we’re delighted with the result.”
