Winters: We Shot Ourselves In The Foot
Lock hurting after Billesley Common defeat
Roy Winters admitted the players were hurting after Moseley inflicted a second defeat over Bristol this season, winning 23-14.
The visitors led 14-0 at Billesley Common, but conceded seventeen unanswered points after the interval.
“It was a really tough day at the office – we’re bitterly disappointed – that goes without saying,” said the lock.
“We came up against a spirited side and, when they had the wind behind them, the fourteen point gap just wasn’t enough.
“We shot ourselves in the foot. The sin-binnings and silly errors didn’t help. The pushover try late in the first half got their backs up and they’re the sort of side that if you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile.
“I’m pretty emotional about it because it was a game we needed to win, but we let ourselves down.
“We’ve said all season that every game is crucial, and we have had let-offs already with other results going our way.
“We have to win all the remainder of our games now, anything else might not be good enough if we want to achieve our goals.”
