Four Bristol Ladies set for Six Nations clash

Four Bristol Ladies have been named in the England squad to face France at Twickenham in the Six Nations clash on Saturday.

Amber Reed, Sally Tuson, Sophie Hemming and Kay Wilson are all included in Gary Street’s 22-person squad.

Street said: “We have made a few changes for this match but we have retained 22 out of the 23 players who played against Ireland and they now have the opportunity to put right a poor performance nearly two weeks ago.

“We have worked hard this weekend on our physical preparations which will be key against a side like France and we know we have the capabilities to get our performance back on track.

“Saturday will be a massive game in terms of the championship but we are just looking to put on a performance we can be proud of. We have never lost a game at Twickenham – we love playing there – and we plan to raise our game once again.”

Meanwhile, four Bristol Ladies are named in the England U20s side to take on France at Esher RFC on Saturday.

Holly Molesworth and Mary-Ann Gittings make their England debuts, while Charlotte Notman and Kayleigh Callaway-Bawden are included in the pack.

England Head Coach, Amanda Bennett, said: “Whilst we’ve been working hard, we know France will have been doing the same. They will have pace, power and will be well-organised with a direct style of play.

“We know that some of last year’s France U20s have moved into senior rugby and it will be interesting to review their team sheet as there is an inevitable attrition rate at U20s due to the age restrictions.”
