Bristol Rugby To Host Stadium Q&A At Blackthorn Event
Charity darts competition at the Crown pub
Bristol Rugby players will pit their skills against a team of supporters in a darts competition at the Crown pub in Staple Hill on Wednesday, 20 February.
The pub, which is ran by Supporters Club chairman Ian Selway, will host a Blackthorn-sponsored charity darts competition to raise money for Shine Together – the cancer unit at Southmead Hospital.
There will also be a silent auction with a number of prizes to be won, including signed Bristol shirts, matchday tickets and a tour of the Cider Mill.
On the same night, the Club will invite supporters to an open Q&A to discuss the plans to groundshare with Bristol City FC at a redeveloped Ashton Gate or new Ashton Vale Stadium.
The football club unveiled a £40m scheme earlier this month that will provide a 26,000 capacity multi-purpose stadium in BS3.
Starting at 7pm, CEO Steve Gorvett will answer questions and respond to concerns regarding the announcement.
“Bristol Rugby have a real say in this redevelopment. We want to gauge the views of our fans and clarify any concerns, so that we can ensure that the project suits the Club and our supporters,” said Gorvett.
“We intend to set up a voluntary supporters group to represent the views of Bristol Rugby fans throughout the stadium planning and building process.”
The Club have highlighted the following issues as key topics of discussion: set-up of bars, available food outlets, the colour scheme of the redeveloped stadium, and the possibility of safe standing.
