Academy Set For Derby Clash
U18s name side to face Bath at the Rec
Bristol Academy U18s take on Bath Rugby U18s in a mouthwatering derby at the Recreation Ground on Monday evening (7.45pm KO)
Mike Hall’s side went down 40-24 to London Wasps last Saturday, and will look to get back to winning ways against their West Country rivals.
"With results not going our way it would be easy to feel negative going into what will be our biggest game of the season,” said Attack Coach Keith Leaker.
“However, the brand of rugby the squad has played, the work ethic and attitude of all the players means that we are really looking forward to Monday at the Rec.
“We have worked hard on improving our execution this week and are confident that this will give us the positive result that this group of players deserves.”
Academy Manager Mike Hall added: “It would be great to see as many Bristol fans as possible at the game on Monday night.
“These clashes have produced some memorable games over the years and I am sure both teams will put on a great show of attacking exciting rugby.
We are extremely grateful to Danny Grewcock (Bath Academy Manager) and the Bath staff for working so hard to get the game at the Rec.
“It is a wonderful opportunity for our young players and gives them a real taste for playing on a big stage. I am confident our squad will go out and represent the values of the club and put in a performance everyone can be proud of."
The fixture is free entry for all.
