PREVIEW: Rotherham Titans

Rotherham four points behind Bristol in seventh

Rotherham Titans visit the Memorial Stadium on Sunday just four points behind Bristol Rugby in seventh place (3pm KO).

The Yorkshire side saw off Plymouth in a high-scoring affair at Clifton Lane last weekend, bagging a bonus point in a 34-31 victory.

The home side picked up a crucial bonus point after fly half James McKinney went over, while Charlie Mulchrone scored twice. A penalty try sealed maximum points, and Titans had Garry Law to thank as the full back added fourteen points with the boot.

Liam Middleton’s side fell to a 23-16 defeat back in October, as Alex Rieder’s first half effort and a Titans penalty try ensured the home side took the spoils.

Rotherham have lost six of their last eight games on the road, but strong home form keeps the Titans in with a hope of reaching the RFU Championship top four.

Following Sunday’s game, Rotherham face Newcastle Falcons (March 2), before clashes with Doncaster (March 9) and Cornish Pirates (March 23).
