Bridgend currently placed third in Pool 1

Bridgend are currently placed third in Pool 1 after one win and one defeat in the B&I Cup so far this season.

The Ravens went down 49-19 to Ulster at Deramore Park in the opening round, following a second half collapse against the Belfast side.

Bridgend were level 16-16 at the break, courtesy of Glen Lewis’ try and eleven points from the boot of Ross Jones.

But Ulster plundered thirty-three points in the second period to condemn Ben Rose’s side to defeat.

Bridgend bounced back with a 25-7 victory over local rivals Cardiff at the Riverside Hardware Brewery Field in October.

The hosts led 15-7 at half-time after Jamie Murphy had kicked five penalty goals. A second half score from Tom Grabham cemented the result in a strong performance from the Ravens.

Following Saturday’s game, Bridgend return to the Memorial Stadium on Friday, 14 December (7.45pm KO) for the second part of the B&I Cup double header.
