Head Coach pleased with 'efficient' display

Liam Middleton has urged his players to keep working hard as Bristol Rugby made it three successive RFU Championship wins on the bounce on Friday, beating London Scottish 43-16.

Trailing 10-16 midway through the first period, Bristol scored four tries after the break to record a convincing victory.

“It was a good night for us,” said the Head Coach. “We have a great capacity for work and we showed that on Friday.

“Although the pressure we applied in the first half didn’t show on the scoreboard, we came through and showed our quality.

“We had good balance to our game – scoring tries from our driving lineout and providing threat from our backline too. We were powerful, efficient and moved the ball around well so it was pleasing to see.

“Momentum grows in small layers so it’s all about keeping this run going now. We’re not on a roll yet, we will still need to work hard and we’ll need to keep improving week on week.”

Middleton’s focus now switches to the B&I Cup, as Bristol Rugby prepare for a double-header with Bridgend in the competition.

“Bridgend will provide a big challenge and we know we have to keep building,” he added.  “The B&I Cup is very important to us this season and it’s vital that we keep the momentum going now.

“Overall, we’re satisfied with the win and bagging the bonus point, but now we look ahead to an Anglo-Welsh derby and another chance to keep pushing forward.”
