Hooker relishing the challenge of London Scottish

Ross Johnston has set his sights on a home victory when Bristol Rugby take on London Scottish at the Memorial Stadium on Friday (7.45pm KO).

Bristol – who are now up to fifth in the RFU Championship table – have won five of their last six games in all competitions and the hooker is eager to extend that run this weekend.

“The result down at Plymouth was just what we needed,” said Johnston. “We worked incredibly hard for each other to pick up the four points and it’s given us a boost.

“We’ve come through the sticky patch and we’re better for it. We talked a lot about consistency and backing up a win with another good display  - I think we did that at Brickfields.

“The boys have had another excellent week in training ahead of Scottish. It’s important we continue where we left off and show the same commitment and drive in front of our home supporters on Friday.

“They’re a good side who will be full of confidence after beating Moseley. We’re desperate to keep climbing the table so we’re relishing a tough battle.

“Playing at the Memorial Stadium under the floodlights is special because there is always a great atmosphere. The fans were brilliant at Plymouth in the driving rain and we want to reward them with a big performance against London Scottish.”
