Albion currently in fifth after bright start

Bristol face Plymouth on Saturday, looking for a first win away from home in the RFU Championship since an 18-9 victory over Doncaster on Friday, 7 September.

Liam Middleton’s side have an impressive record at Brickfields, having recorded victories in the past three seasons – 33-8 in 2009, 20-19 in 2010 and 23-3 in 2011.

Plymouth Albion enjoyed a superb start to the season, winning four of their opening six games and finding themselves in the promotion play-off places.

The Devon outfit have lost just once at home during the league campaign, going down 22-31 to Nottingham in a five-game losing streak.

Albion returned to winning ways at home to London Scottish on their last outing, surviving a late Exiles fightback to record a 24-20 victory.

Former Colston’s School pupil Paul Roberts is in fine form at outside-half, while Rhodri McAtee and Keni Fisilau provide an attacking threat in the backline.

Following Saturday’s game, Plymouth face Newcastle (Nov 30), before a B&I Cup double header against Aberavon (Dec 8) and (Dec 14).
