U20s Kick Off Campaign With Win

East Midlands 8-53 Gloucestershire U20s


Gloucestershire opened their 2012/13 National U-20 Championship campaign with a comfortable 53-8 win over East Midlands in Northampton on Sunday.

Outstanding Filton College No.8 Jake Holcombe scored three tries in the first half, while Joe Hoyle, skipper Ricky Cano, Ben Large, Auguy Slowik (2) and Harry Ivall also crossed.

East Midlands took an early lead through the boot of Rory Seymour, but a stunning Holcombe hat-trick and Joe Hoyle’s score gave Gloucestershire a commanding 27-3 lead at the break.

Mike Panaho’s men return to action on Sunday, December 2 against Notts, Links and Derbyshire.
