Jersey look to extend four-match unbeaten run

Jersey visit the Memorial Stadium on Sunday, looking for a first victory away from St. Peter in the RFU Championship this season (3pm KO).

Ben Harvey’s men, whose rise from National One last year sealed a fourth promotion in five seasons, find themselves one place off the foot of the table.

After a difficult start, the Channel-Islanders have enjoyed a recent resurgence, courtesy of B&I Cup wins over Carnegie and a hard-earned draw with Pontypridd. Since then, Jersey achieved back-to-back league victories over London Scottish (20-17) and Plymouth (16-14).

Jersey have yet to win in the league away from St. Peter, though. The new-boys went down to Leeds at Headingley (19-32), Rotherham at Clifton Lane (31-54) and Nottingham at Meadow Lane (16-48).

Bristol Academy and Colston’s School product Ashley Maggs is a regular in the Jersey midfield while Ed Tellwright, who joined from Rotherham Titans in the summer, studied at Marlwood School and represented Bristol Schools.

Following Sunday’s game, Jersey face Newcastle (Nov 24), Doncaster (Nov 30) before a trip to Leinster in the B&I Cup (Dec 8).
