Dean Ryan Appointed As Consultant
Former Bristol Head Coach joins as part time consultant

Bristol Rugby are delighted to announce the appointment of Dean Ryan as a Consultant to the Club.
Ryan will remain in his primary role for Sky Sports, with this continuing to take the majority of his time. The consultancy position at Bristol Rugby will involve him for approximately one day per week.
The role at Bristol Rugby will see the 46 year-old working primarily with the Board of Directors and Head Coach Liam Middleton to advise on any issues that have an impact on the Club's ambitions to return to the Aviva Premiership.
Ryan, who won four caps for England, played at the top level of English Rugby for Saracens, Wasps, Newcastle and finally Bristol, where he made forty-five appearances.
He coached Bristol for the 2001/2 season, leading the Club to the Zurich Premiership Final before spending five years as Head Coach at Gloucester.
“I believe the appointment of Dean as a Consultant to the Club will be a great asset for us,” said Chairman Chris Booy.
“I’m confident Dean’s vast experience and knowledge of Rugby will provide a real benefit throughout the 2012/13 RFU Championship season.”
Dean Ryan added: "I am delighted to be renewing my relationship with Bristol Rugby, who gave me the opportunity to take my first steps into coaching.
“I hope the experience that I’ve gained in a number of different environments will now be of assistance to the Club in its quest to return to the top flight."
