Falcons relegated after London Welsh appeal is upheld

Bristol will kick off the 2012/13 RFU Championship campaign with a mouthwatering clash against Newcastle Falcons at the Memorial Stadium (w/e of September 2).
Dean Richards’ side were relegated to the second tier following London Welsh’s promotion to the Aviva Premiership.
The Exiles’ promotion had been in doubt after the club failed to meet the Minimum Standards Criteria, but an independent panel upheld their appeal leaving Welsh free to take a place in the top flight.
Bristol will now travel to Kingston Park to play Newcastle on the final day of the regular season (w/e of April 20).
