George Biagi Signs For Bristol Rugby
Lock forward joins from Italian side Aironi

George Biagi will join Bristol Rugby from Italian side Aironi ahead of the 2012/13 RFU Championship season.
The imposing lock made 25 appearances for the RaboDirect PRO12 outfit, including Heineken Cup outings against Clermont Auvergne and Ulster.
Having previously represented Cavalieri Prato and Parma, Biagi’s spell at Aironi saw the 26 year-old understudy Quintin Geldenhuys and former Italian captain Marco Bortolami.
“George has impressed me with his performances in the Rabo and Heineken Cup,” said Head Coach Liam Middleton. “Having watched him this season, I was impressed with his physicality and high work rate. He is athletic and I’m certain we can get a lot out of him.”
Born and educated in Scotland, Biagi attended Bocconi University in Milan before joining Grande Milano.
He added: “I’m delighted to be joining Bristol Rugby, Liam showed me around the Club and I was impressed with the performance structures in place.
“That helped me to make up my mind, I believe I can contribute to Bristol’s ambitions and I believe that the environment at the Club is the best place for me to be to achieve my rugby ambitions.
“I look forward to joining up with my new teammates and playing at the Memorial Stadium next season.”
