Avonmouth Old Boys 23 - 15 Thornbury
Avonmouth overcame Thornbury 23-15 at the Memorial Stadium on Monday evening to secure the Charles Saunders Combination Cup for the eighth time in the Club’s history.
Coached by Bristol duo Mark Irish and Sean Marsden, Avonmouth led from the third minute but survived a late Thornbury onslaught to claim victory.
Ayden Sloman’s try midway through the first half and Neil Evans’ effort after the break put the ‘Mouth in control, although Thornbury hit back with scores from Giles Bristol and Jake Evans to set up a nervy finale.
