Bristol Ladies Confirm Move to Portway
Ladies leave Dings RFC for new home ahead of 2012/13 season

Bristol Ladies will leave Dings’ Landseer Avenue ground and move to the Portway ahead of the 2012/13 season.
The Rugby Development Centre, run by ALM Sports and Bristol City Council, will play host to all Ladies’ first and second team fixtures.
Planning a launch on Saturday, 18 August, Bristol Ladies will play Worcester Ladies at the new ground.
"This is really exciting time for Bristol Ladies,” said Club Captain Heidi Chapman-Mercer. “For a long time, we have been working hard and striving towards a better future for the Club.
“Moving to the Portway is a massive step for us and is gong to involve a lot of work, but by having our own home ground, we are leading the way for women's rugby and building a fantastic environment for us to grow.
“It certainly gives us the professional set up that we have strived for, and that we believe a Premiership side should have.
“We hope to build a new and thriving rugby community at the Portway and as a player, I am pleased that we are creating a higher status for women's rugby in the local area.”
ALM Sports Steve Allington (pictured), added: “Following over a year of negotiations, we are really pleased to welcome Bristol Ladies to the Portway Development Centre.
It will be fantastic to have regular rugby being played here as a home ground. We love this venue but we have great facilities which were not being used to their full potential, particularly the grass pitches. “
