Roper Reinvents To Reach 2012 Miles
Commercial Manager bids to run, row, cycle and swim to target

Commercial Manager Suzanne Roper will continue her mission to complete 2012 miles this year, despite suffering from a knee injury which has hampered her progress in the past month.
And, in a bid to make up for lost time, Roper is going to swim, cycle, and row her way to 2012 miles. Roper is also taking part in the BRIS Trust 24-hour Kayak Challenge in May.
“My patella tendonitis injury has been really frustrating,“ she said. “My running mileage has been close to non-existent in the past four weeks and while I’ve covered over three-hundred miles, at this point I should be over the six-hundred mile mark.
“Running 2012 miles was looking increasingly unlikely as the stress would be too much for my knee. But I won’t give up and instead I’m looking at other ways to power through to the target.
“I still intend to run as the year progresses, however I intend to cycle, swim, row and anything else I can think of to cover the miles!
“I’ve raised over £4,000 already and really want to keep the fundraising going, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone so far for there generosity and support so far ”
Raising money for the Southmead Hospital Cancer Charity Fund and the Bristol Rugby Community Foundation, Roper has entered the Bristol 10k run and the Bristol Half-Marathon.
